What is Fitness Stats?

Fitness Stats is a delightful app that quickly aggregates your activity and workout data stored in the Health app on your iPhone.

Is my Health data shared or sold?

No. My goal is to make amazing apps for you, not track you, or sell your private, personal information. All Indie apps are built and designed with utmost care to be as private as possible. Fitness Stats performs real-time calculations with data stored in the Health app on your iPhone. Your data is only used within this app and never shared with any other apps, services, or networks.

Why is Fitness Stats 2 a paid upgrade?

Short answer: All Indie products are built with privacy-first as one of the core principles. Privacy is not optional, but required. Quality apps that are private and secure require a paid business model.

The original Fitness Stats was a quick side project that was launched in the early days of the pandemic. It was received exceptionally well and has proven valuable to many. Fitness Stats 2 is the next chapter of the app. It adds more features based on the fantastic feedback from many existing users. It is now a more refined app while maintaining the original spirit of delight and simplicity. Building and maintaining an app like Fitness Stats is a full-time effort, and Indie is just me with no funding or sponsors. I plan to keep making it better and help us with our health and fitness goals.

What is the difference between exercise time and workout duration?

Exercise time is what the Exercise ring shows in the Fitness app on your Apple Watch.

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204517

Exercise time is the total minutes that the Fitness app on your Apple Watch detects you to be active. Workout duration is the total time spent working out using a fitness app like the Workout app on your Apple Watch. Exercise Time includes the Workout Duration + any brisk activity that you may do through the day but not track with the Workout app.

What does Fitness Stats use for the since date?

Fitness Stats looks up dates of first recorded data samples for workout of any type, step count, active calories, exercise time, and walk/run/cycling/swim/ski/snowboarding distance. The since date is the earliest of these dates and it is used as the starting point in time for all the calculations.

Why is since date before Apple Watch was launched for my data?

Apple Watch was launched on April 24, 2015. Since date is the starting point of first ever recorded data sample in the Health app. It can be earlier if you have imported data to the Health app.

Why is Distance on Feet not sum of Walking Workouts + Running Workouts + Hiking Workouts?

Walking/Running/Hiking Workouts are distance covered only when you are doing a workout. Distance on Feet is distance measured throughout the day by an activity tracking device like an Apple Watch. While the Distance of Feet includes distance covered during workouts, it also includes distance covered on feet when you are not working out.
